The Number Plate Centre is situated at 706 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow G11 6RB and is near the Whiteinch/Broomhill roundabout just off the Clydeside Expressway A814.  The shop is on the left side as you leave the roundabout towards Partick.  It has now been established for approximately 6 years and is a small personal business dealing with the exact requirements of each customer.

Customers will receive a warm and courteous welcome to the shop and we do our utmost to ensure that the customer leaves happy with his/her purchase.

The law regarding the issuing of vehicle registration plates changed about 2 years ago making it illegal for the supplier to sell showplates but also for the customer to buy them.

The new law dictates that the person wishing to have a new registration plate made up must bring in proof of his identity and proof of ownership of the registration.

Proof of Identity

One of the following:-

• driving licence
• electric, gas or water bill, landline telephone bill, council tax bill (all within last 6 months)
• bank/building society statement
• passport
• national id card
• debit/credit card
• police warrant card
• armed forces id card

Also one of the following:-

• registration document (V5)
• new keeper supplement
• certificate of entitlement (V750)
• retention document (V778)
• renewal tax disc form
• sorn document
• temporary registration document (V379)
• V948 from DVLA office
• letter of authorisation from lease/hire company or DVLA fleet operator on company headed paper with contact details stating that the company hold the V5 and quoting the document reference number.
• PLEASE NOTE:-  Please make sure if you are buying plates on the internet or ebay that the supplier is DVLA registered and that the plates you buy are DVLA legal and not just MOT legal.  If you do not produce your documents, then the supplier is not DVLA registered.  Illegal plates may incur a £60 fine.
